Mauro Celotti was born in a small village near Venice, Italy. Surrounded by friends, family and artists alike, Mauro attended art classes and fell in love with art with a particular interest in outdoor assignments. at age fifteen, His family moved to South Africa where he continued to live for thirty years before moving to Canada. in South Africa, Mauro attended the Ruth Prouse College of Art, majoring in Photography and Graphic Art. in addition to his education at the Ruth Prouse College, he studied drawing and art history at UNISA. Mauro was later educated in the art of silk screening at the University of Cape Town where he developed his artistic talents. Mauro had expressed a profound interest in the arts from age eighteen when he began to exhibit his musical talents in a band with his brothers for over 10 years.
In 1984 he started his own advertising photography studio in which he ran very successfully for 18 years. concurrently, he began a digital printing business, and was involved in the design and digital production of art works and billboard- sized prints. throughout this time he won over 35 awards, including Gold, Silver & Bronze awards in the Advertising and Digital industries.
In 2001, Mauro and his family decided to make a new start in Vancouver.
Art has always been MAURO’S passion and he has worked in many mediums including Pastels, Airbrush, Acrylics, Silk-screening, Metal and Wood sculpture, Digital Art, Mixed Media and Oils. Mauro's joy of art is clearly visible through his work. ”I cannot describe the feeling of happiness I get when I am in my studio painting and listening to good music.” he now takes great pleasure working in Oils, Acrylics, Mixed Media and not forgetting Photography and Digital Art.
